Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Officer Training Instructor.

This is a Community College Air Force position (CCAF) FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE GS-1712 POSITIONS: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the following subject matter areas: Distribution Management, Materiel Management, and Contingency Operations.

To include: distribution management, materiel management, fuels management, contingency operations, Aerial port operations, and vehicle management.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction.

Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs.

Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses.

Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.

OR EDUCATION

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level.

TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel.
5. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
