Job summary

Dover Corp seeks a Training & Development Specialist to collaborate with Operations, HR, Quality and Engineering. You will create curricula and materials, deliver training, and monitor effectiveness for the workforce, including leadership development.

Responsibilities include designing both instructor-led and e-learning programs, maintaining training plans, and driving continuous improvement through assessments and manager feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR/OD/education/business/communications.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methods required.
• 5+ years of experience in learning and development, training, HR, organizational development or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
• Design and develop instructor-led and e-learning programs using instructional design tools (Articulate, Captivate).
• Develop and maintain an annual learning and development plan aligned with objectives.
• Maintain training plans, curricula, certification requirements, records, and documentation.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Support cross-training and employee development initiatives.
• Coordinate training related to safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Overview

The Training & Development Specialist partners closely with Operations, HR, Quality and Engineering and is responsible for developing a training curriculum and materials, creating training material content, selecting appropriate delivery mechanisms, delivering training and monitoring training effectiveness for the general workforce and targeted areas to include but not limited to: Discipline-specific competency training on general workplace standards, processes, and tools; Training on leadership and management development.

• Identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
• Design and developing instructor-led and e-learning programs using instructional design tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate or comparable software.
• Develop and maintain an annual learning and development plan aligned with business and operational objectives.
• Maintains the facility's training plans, curricula, certification requirements, training records, and competency documentation.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support cross-training and employee development initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee development.
• Coordinate training related to safety, quality systems, manufacturing processes, equipment, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and other process-improvement activities, when appropriate.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, performance data, and manager feedback.
• Product regular training reports and metrics for management.

Qualifications Summary:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methods required.
• 5+ years of experience in learning and development, training, HR, organizational development or a related field.
• Strong project-management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
• Preferred experience with a Learning Management System.
