Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years in training support, documentation, or technical administrative roles preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma White Belt or Yellow Belt required or obtainable within first year.
  • AWS Welding Inspector/Supervisor education path possible with experience.

Job description

The Training Coordinator provides support through development, maintenance, analysis, and improvement in training documentation, records, and the Learning Management System (LMS) content for manufacturing and other training programs. This role ensures training materials and data are accurate, standardized, and align with organizational requirements.

This position plays a critical role in evaluating training effectiveness and delivery outcomes through structured analysis of documentation, LMS data, and feedback from training activities. The Training Coordinator supports training delivery through limited instructor-led sessions and assists with workforce development initiatives, including external advisory board participation to align training programs with industry needs.

This position does not own curriculum decisions but provides structured analysis and documentation support to enable continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop, format, and maintain training documents, procedures, lesson plans, and instructional materials using Microsoft Word and other standardized templates and methods.
  • Organize, update, and control training documentation and curriculum materials.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and operator qualification data within the LMS.
  • Generate and analyze training data reports from the LMS to evaluate participation, completion, and qualification trends.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or inefficiencies in training documentation and delivery based on data and feedback.
  • Provide structured recommendations for improving training content clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure training documentation is current, accurate, and aligned with applicable standards and internal requirements.
  • Assist with version control and document management for all training materials.
  • Support the preparation and updating of training content for delivery throughout the organization.
  • Deliver scheduled or specially requested training as assigned, ensuring alignment with established curriculum.
  • Support welder qualification documentation by ensuring welder qualification results are accurately logged through the Quality Manual System weld and grind tool.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and provide analysis of outcomes related to operator performance and skill development.
  • Collaborate with peers of new coworkers onboarding as well as the operations support team frequently to ensure success of training programs.
  • Collaborate with all levels in the organization to refine training delivery approaches based on data-driven insights.
  • Participate in advisory board activities with local schools, technical colleges, or industry partners to support workforce alignment.
  • Travel to the other facilities as needed to support the team and processes.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with technologies and best practices across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively, in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and outside-the-box ideas.
  • Demonstrated capability aligned with American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS), with opportunity to pursue certification within three years, and further advancement toward AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) within five years, depending on experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and other standardized templates and methods for technical documentation development, formatting, and standardization.
  • Strong working knowledge of an LMS, including data entry, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze training data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and records management.
  • Strong knowledge of basic manufacturing processes including welding, grinding, and metal finishing to support training context.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and administrative stakeholders.
  • Ability to support training delivery in a structured environment.
  • Knowledge of safe materials handling practices including crane operations and forklift usage.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills for engagement with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to evaluate coworker competency and identify performance gaps.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills for production rounding activities.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in training support, documentation, or technical administrative roles preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturing training or technical environments preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma White Belt or Yellow Belt required or ability to obtain within first year via company training.
  • Ability to maintain AWS Certified Welding Inspector, & or AWS Certified Welding Supervisor / AWS Certified Educator certifications once obtained.
Base Compensation Range: $59,159 - $88,739 annually
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.
