Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Training Coordinator to support the Neuromodulation Division in Plano, TX. The role focuses on LMS administration, creating and tracking trainings, and generating reports for management and audits.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation Division. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. Working under general supervision, provides Learning Management System (LMS) software support in accordance with requirements specified per company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Detailed Work Instructions (DWIs). Assists managers in determining training needs and requirements. Utilizing the LMS software system, identifies, creates, and tracks training for any department. Takes initiative to ensure work is done accurately and completely. Applies existing work methods to known situations, handling typical daily issues previously identified, and must be able to recognize when it is too complex and beyond their capability in order to defer to more advanced level personnel to assure projects are finished in a timely manner.

What You'll Work On
  • Assist departments in defining training requirements and determining timelines.
  • Work closely with department managers to ensure training is available when needed and completed when required.
  • Set up audiences, certification trainings, courses, versional documents, and track in-class, online, onsite and offsite training.
  • Develop, run, and distribute reports as scheduled or upon request for management and/or audit use.
  • Manage the process that assigns courses to employees.
  • Input content into LMS using pre-determined organizational structure and naming conventions.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other essential functions and responsibilities as determined by the Company from time to time.
  • Work additional hours, days, or schedules (including other shifts, weekends, and/or holidays), if directed.
  • Remains current on software changes and developments in field(s) of expertise.
  • Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems, with more complex isues being referred to more advanced level personnel.
  • Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months of progressively responsible experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or applications such as Microsoft Office, database software, Adobe software, SharePoint, online training modules, or related systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of training administration processes and learning management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively under general supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of and ability to comply with FDA regulations, company policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Experience with training software, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and/or Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or similar e-learning development tools.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting a large enterprise or cross-divisional business environment.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse organization.
  • Ability to leverage cross-functional resources and influence stakeholders to accomplish project goals.
