Job summary

Umicore is seeking a Training Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and administer onboarding and technical training to ensure a safe, compliant, and qualified workforce.

You will partner with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, QA, Engineering, and Human Resources to build a skilled team capable of safely operating catalyst manufacturing processes in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Onboarding new hires, contractors, interns, and temporary personnel.
• Coordinate training to meet EHS, GMP, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain training matrices and ensure competency before work.
• Coordinate cross-functional training with Operations, EHS, QA, Engineering, HR.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety onboarding and ensure completion of required EHS training.
• Coordinate onboarding for employees, contractors, interns, and temps.
• Schedule annual and regulatory refresher trainings.
• Develop qualification plans for production areas and ensure operator competency.
• Coordinate SOP, batch records, work instructions, and GMP documentation training.
• Maintain training records to support audits by OSHA, EPA, ISO, and internal teams.

Position Summary

The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering all employee onboarding and technical training programs to ensure employees are competent, qualified, and compliant before performing work independently. This position plays a critical role in maintaining Umicore’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, quality, and regulatory compliance by ensuring all personnel receive standardized training on plant safety requirements, operating procedures, and job‑specific competencies.

The Training Coordinator partners closely with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Human Resources to develop a highly skilled workforce capable of safely operating catalyst manufacturing processes while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Onboarding & Compliance

• Lead all new employee safety orientation programs.
• Coordinate onboarding for employees, contractors, interns, and temporary personnel.
• Ensure completion of required EHS training before personnel enter production areas.

• Ensure operators demonstrate competency before working independently.
• Coordinate work area training on:
