Job summary

The Training Coordinator at Great Lakes Cheese is responsible for tracking all hourly trainings for the plant and coordinating the administrative tasks for training initiatives. This role ensures compliance and audit readiness and supports the New Hire Experience from day one through year one.

Responsibilities include coordinating training assessments, tracking reports, preparing manuals and evaluations, and building trainer pools.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of training experience.
  • Experience writing training programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of training course design and implementation.
  • Experience presenting to groups, including remote/web-based.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable and enthusiastic team player.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training assessments and evaluations.
  • Track all reports and recommendations for analyses conducted.
  • Prepare procedural and training manuals, tip sheets and evaluations.
  • Expedite and coordinate administrative details concerning training for overall program progress.
  • Cultivate internal relationships at the operational level to gain support and participation in training.
  • Define and track trainer pool by shift, position, skill set, etc.
  • Assign trainers based on learning type.
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing retention programs for new employees.
  • Coordinate 30-60-90 touch points.
  • Training Communities of Practice team member. Working with other plant training teams as well as Corp training resources to define standards and best practices.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.

Job description

This role involves tracking learning and program progress to ensure compliance and audit readiness. This role plays an essential part in the administration of sections of the New Hire Experience from day one through year one.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of training experience or more.
  • Experience writing training programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of training course design and implementation.
  • Experience in presenting to small and large groups; experience in remote or web based presentations.
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully, to achieve tight deadlines and take initiative on multiple projects.
  • Ability to handle a broad scope of responsibility, utilizing independent problem solving skills, strong project management, organizational and multitasking ability with clear prioritization.
  • Adaptable & enthusiastic team player.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Multi-lingual preferred (Hmong, Pashto, Persian/Dari, Urdu or Spanish)
Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
  • Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment
