Job description

This position is open to Colorado residents only.
An eligible list established with this recruitment may be used to fill other similar positions within the Colorado Department of Public Safety in the next 12 months.
This position has a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days per week on site.

About the Work Unit

The Office of Community Corrections (OCC) is statutorily authorized to provide funding, regulation, and technical assistance to community corrections providers and boards throughout Colorado. CRS 17-27-108 requires the OCC to administer and execute all contracts with local government units, community corrections boards, or nongovernmental agencies for community corrections programs and services. The statute also authorizes the OCC to establish, enforce, and audit compliance with professional standards for community corrections programs operated by local or nongovernmental entities. Colorado law also requires the OCC to provide technical assistance to ensure compliance and system improvement.

About the Job

The position oversees external training and quality assurance for the Office of Community Corrections. Responsibilities include analyzing community corrections program data, creating and facilitating statewide training, and serving as liaison to various criminal justice agencies and stakeholders such as the Department of Corrections, Office of Behavioral Health, and Judicial Branch.
Key Responsibilities:

Training Delivery & Group Practice Facilitation
Design, present, and evaluate training on offender assessment tools like SOAR. Provide cross-agency training, support implementation of evidence-based practices, and coordinate training efforts. Travel throughout Colorado is required for training and facilitation.

Technical Assistance Coaching & Program Support

Provide coaching, technical assistance, and program support to staff and agencies post-training. Conduct practice sessions, develop learning infrastructures, and support staff development to ensure fidelity to evidence-based practices. Travel within Colorado is required for coaching and support.

Note: To be considered, you must meet one of the following options.

Minimum Qualifications:

Seven (7) years of criminal justice experience with at least 3 years in training, coaching, and technical assistance.
OR a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
OR a Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment:
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Hybrid work model (home and office in Lakewood, CO). Occasional travel required.
