Role Description

The Training and Certification Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Washington, DC, responsible for overseeing CTAA's training, certification, and professional development programs. This role blends exceptional customer service, strategic relationship management, and a passion for education. You will identify emerging training needs, cultivate partnerships, and deliver an outstanding learning experience. This work expands CTAA's impact across the community transportation industry. You’ll be working with a team of dedicated professional colleagues who support and collaboratively work together as the core to their commitment to our work and the community transportation industry. CTAA considers experience in the community and public transportation sector as preferred, but it is not required.

Core Responsibilities
Program & Logistics Management
  • Manage operations for in-person classroom courses and printed manuals.
  • Schedule training sessions, track student enrollments, created and evaluate analytic reports and prepare technical equipment.
  • Coordinate logistics for moving office supplies to and from official events.
  • Oversee live virtual and classroom training sessions while screening instructor credentials.
  • Research new educational topics by staying informed on public transit trends and conference updates.
  • Study modern teaching methods to keep learning styles effective and current.
  • Evaluate third-party learning materials to verify their relevance and quality.
  • Keep all study programs fresh by introducing modern technology tools.
Partnership & Compliance
  • Collaborate with the Contract and Compliance Officer to build and use standardized templates.
  • Create structured compliance agreements for state DOTs, transit groups, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Reach out and respond to custom educational requests from external industry organizations.
Financial & Marketing Operations
  • Track program costs, calculate publication expenses, and report return on investment (ROI) to leadership.
  • Manage monthly budget billings by tracking revenues against overall expenses.
  • Secure timely billing, handle incoming vendor payments, and resolve financial variances.
  • Update course web pages and build creative social media campaigns to increase program visibility.
