Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced Training Operations Manager to lead the daily activities of the training team across ambulatory healthcare settings. You will coordinate schedules, assess program effectiveness, and drive adoption of practice management and EHR-related training.

The role requires strong instructional design, presentations, and healthcare operations knowledge, with travel up to 75% and occasional overnights. Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning styles and training delivery in healthcare.
  • Ability to assess education and training needs in healthcare settings.
  • Experience implementing and coordinating traditional and modern training methods.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
  • Ability to develop effective presentations and serve as a trainer.
  • Experience with EHR implementation and ambulatory practice training.

Job Description:
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Travel required as needed.
  • Manages daily operations of the training team, coordinating work activities and staff schedules.
  • Assess training program and instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects KPIs.
  • Serves as a liaison between physician enterprise and medical group to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Regularly meets with PE leadership to provide updates on ambulatory projects.
  • Assesses and addresses training needs, modifying trainers’ schedules as necessary to ensure success of the region.
  • Identifies and communicates potential barriers, risks, or delays related to training and learning plans.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, recommending improvements.
  • Identifies process issues and shares findings to improve future training materials and methods.
  • Ensures staff adherence to compliance regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Tracks training team’s time and attendance in a timely manner.
  • Working hours are on site, full time; Monday - Friday, occasional weekends may be required.
  • Up to 75% travel may be required with occasional overnight stays.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • [Required] Possesses extensive knowledge of adult learning styles and training delivery in support of physician practice operations including adoption of practice management and EHR systems.
  • [Required] Possesses knowledge of how to identify education and training needs in a healthcare setting and participate in related program development and instruction.
  • [Required] Possesses extensive experiencing implementing and coordinating traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
  • [Required] Possesses working knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
  • [Required] Demonstrates ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinator, monitor and evaluate) within an ambulatory healthcare environment.
  • [Required] Demonstrates ability to develop/make effective presentations and serve as a trainer.
  • [Required] Demonstrates prominent participation in practice management and EHR implementation and/or ongoing support and training programs.
  • [Required] Displays knowledge and skills necessary to deliver quality educational instruction to all levels of staff (including external agencies) in a clear and concise manner.
  • [Required] Possesses ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of employees, facilitate group processes and change.
  • [Required] Demonstrates ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • [Required] Possesses strong conflict resolution and customer relation skills.
  • [Required] Excels at prioritization and coordination of multiple projects.
  • [Required] Communicates strong understanding of applicable policies and procedures.
  • [Required] Possesses knowledge in healthcare operations, information technology, revenue cycle, physician practice operations, clinical operations, nursing workflow, physician work flow, and medical information management.
  • [Required] Demonstrates understanding of revenue cycle and compliance practices.
  • [Required] Experienced in application of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • [Required] Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation.
  • [Required] Knowledge of/experience with athenaCollector, athenaClinicals, Cerner, and Epic [Preferred]
  • [Preferred] Other EHR implementation and training experience
  • [Preferred] Knowledge of quality reporting and physician practice regulatory programs (e.g., HEDIS, MACRA, PQRS)
  • [Preferred] Expertise in process mapping and process mapping tools
  • [Preferred] Project management experience
Education:
  • Bachelor's [Required]

  • Field of Study: in health administration or highly relatable field
Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of physician practice operationsor highly relatable experience [Required]
  • 5+ years of training experience in a healthcare environment [Required]
  • Experience in adult learner education/teaching experience[Required]
  • Experience in facilitating classes independently [Required]
