Job summary

Friendship-Community is seeking a Head of Training to oversee all activities of the Training Department, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

The role manages the Training Associates and Administrative Assistant, coordinates orientation, maintains records, and ensures effective delivery of CPR/First Aid and online learning.

The position is full-time, with standard hours 8:00 am–4:30 pm, and requires a degree in human services and strong communication skills.

  • Experience in training, professional development, or related areas preferred.

Responsibilities

Training Administrator

TITLE: Head of Training

DEFINITION AND BASIC FUNCTION:

The Head of Training functions as the manager to oversee all aspects of the Training Department in an effort to create a culture of continuous learning.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Head of Training is accountable to the Director of Human Resources.

AUTHORITY:

The Head of Training supervises the Training Associates, Administrative Assistant for Training, facilitates meetings, and manages filing systems and resources. The TA is designated as the Lead Trainer in particular areas or for specific topics. They have access rights to Outlook, Elsevier, and Shared Drive.

RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Demonstrates a respectful positive attitude that promotes service excellence to Individuals, Team Members, families and/or the public.
  • Manages and/or facilitates in the following areas:
  • Initial Orientation; including scheduling and conducting pre-employment meetings, communication with new hires throughout orientation
  • Group Orientation; including, scheduling of, preparing for and facilitation of all sessions, back-up session presenter
  • Record Keeping; including, records and tracking, Program Training Checklists, invoices, certification tracking, applicant demographics, opening/closing files
  • Resource Management; including content materials, binders and library
  • SAPA; including registration, paperwork and trainers
  • Online Learning; including, knowledge and training of Elsevier (online learning platform), enrollment in and assignment of online trainings
  • CPR/First Aid – registration, paperwork, trainers
  • Medication Administration Training – “Clicks & Bricks” Medication Administration Training, Practicum Observers, medication errors, AED, recertification, recruitment, tracking, processing and trainers
  • NADSP
  • Other areas as assigned
  • Provides training in one or more the following areas as a Trainer and/or Presenter:
  • Group Orientation session topic(s) as assigned
  • Elsevier (online learning program)
CPR/First Aid
  • Other Trainer and/or Presenter opportunities, as needed
  • Works with other departments to create, discuss, and provide needed learning enhancement opportunities.
  • Attends various Team Meetings and as a representative of the Training Department
  • Understands and implements regulations related to training needs of the organization
WORK SCHEDULE:

The Head of Training position is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly paid position with hours generally between 8:00am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required for evening and weekend learning opportunities and events.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

The Head of Training holds an associate or bachelor's degree in human services related field and proficiency in Microsoft Office or relevant experience. Experience working in a training setting, professional development or other similar departments is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are desired.
