JOB SUMMARY:

To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. Conduct regular staff training presentations for adults in classroom setting on various health, safety, and human services topics. Facilitate activities, skill sessions, and discussions; provide coaching and feedback to training participants; and provide leadership and management of the classroom. Learn and facilitate standard curricula to groups. Handle all A/V equipment in training room. Greet and assist guest speakers with equipment needs/set up. Assist in producing training handouts and power point presentations. Write articles for agency newsletter. Assist with agency Inservice Committee. Assist with monitoring provision of required training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education, or related field.
  • Experience in public speaking, group facilitation or adult education required. Comfortable presenting to groups using Zoom or similar applications.
  • Experience in intellectual disabilities/behavioral health field preferred.
  • Good computer skills required in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to use Articulate Storyline a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply diversity/equity/inclusion lens to all training content and in provision of training.
  • Active Driver's License and personal vehicle required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Obtain and maintain recommended training certifications (e.g. CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management, Medication Administration, Fire Safety, etc.).
  • Learn new curricula and facilitate training.
  • Conduct ongoing staff training, facilitating activities, skill sessions, and discussions.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to training participants.
  • Provide leadership and management of the classroom.
  • Assist in tracking staff attendance at training.
  • Serve as back up to Training Specialist by assisting in identifying staff in need of training; scheduling of training and creation of class rosters; tracking training cancellations; and reporting rosters to HR.
  • Assist department supervisors with questions related to scheduling staff/training due.
  • Assist in development of internal and external monthly training calendars.
  • Assist with agency In-service Committee, such as attending meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with follow-up actions as needed/assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform physical demands of training, such as standing for several hours when conducting training, and bending/lifting/kneeling associated with CPR, Back Safety, and training set up, such as moving tables/chairs/mats in the classroom.
