Job summary

City of Miami Beach is seeking a trainee for our wastewater collection system, reporting to the Sewer Supervisor. The role trains in installing service laterals, locating mains, and operating equipment, with a path to Wastewater Collection System Operator C within 18 months.

Responsibilities include maintaining facilities, documents, and safety, with shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays. A CDL and licensure progress are required for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Install new service laterals and wastewater collection system mains.
• Clears flow stoppages.
• Locate sewer mains, force mains, and laterals for other utilities and contractors.
• Operates heavy equipment when required.
• Sets up maintenance of traffic and monitors conditions to ensure safety.
• Uses and maintains hand and power tools and test equipment as assigned.
• Assists mechanics and other trades in routine maintenance and repair.
• Performs maintenance and repair of buildings, tanks, piping, grounds, and walkways.
