Job summary

Orgill is seeking a trainee to prepare for a regular sales territory assignment. The program combines formal, on-the-job, and special assignments to build selling skills, retail sales, time and territory management, and product knowledge.

Trainees will gain exposure to Orgill programs, competitors’ programs, basic business principles, and computer resources. Willingness to travel and relocate as needed is required, with two years of related industry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of email, internet, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Must be willing to travel 4–5 days per week on an ongoing basis.
• Must be willing to relocate at Company expense when assigned a territory.
• Prefer candidate with an Associate or Bachelor degree.
• Two years of related business or sales experience in our industry (retail or wholesale hardware, lumber, building materials, farm supply) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete internal formal training modules.
• Participate in sales meetings and customer markets.
• Participate in projects conducted at customer retail stores.
• Work in customer stores, at an Orgill distribution center, and the Customer Service Department.
• Travel with Sales Representatives, Sales Managers and Truck Drivers to observe and assist as assigned.
• Work selected sales territories in the absence of a regularly assigned Sales Representative.
