Tucson Electric Power Company is seeking a System Supervisor Trainee in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves supervising the operation of the electric system for maximum reliability and safety while completing a structured training program.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in the Electric Utility industry. The position includes a 24-hour rotating shift schedule and requires obtaining a NERC Operator certification.

To acquire the skills necessary to supervise the operation of the Company's electric system for maximum economy and reliability consistent with Company safety rules, contractual commitments, cost optimization, continuity of service, and safety to Company personnel, the general public, and system equipment, NERC, WECC, and general industry criteria and practices.
The System Supervisor Trainee, through on the job training and assigned studies during a seven step training program under the direction of System Supervisors/SC&R Training Manager, is expected to progressively gain knowledge in the Distribution, Transmission and Balancing Authority/EIM operations areas, as required to perform the following responsibilities:
This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
High School Diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of experience in the Electric Utility industry or have a NERC certification or an Associates Power degree or Energy Program Certificate.
Ability to work rotating shifts.
The ability to evaluate information, and make decisions in a timely manner, during situations that can be moderately to extremely stressful.
The ability to communicate effectively with other departments within the Company, other Balancing Authorities, and any other affected entities, both verbally and in writing.
Must successfully complete an aptitude test on mathematical skills and electrical theory.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Company's transmission and distribution system.
