Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a District Office transportation professional in Baltimore, MD to operate school buses for students and staff, including field trips and events. The role starts as a temporary trainee with potential for hire as a Regular full-time Bus Driver.

Responsibilities include route operations, safety inspections, and maintaining discipline while coordinating with school staff and transportation supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Meets and maintains all qualifications for school vehicle drivers per COMAR 13 A.06.07/01.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses in compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
• Maintain student discipline on the bus and coordinate with principals and transportation supervisors.
• Transport students and faculty on field trips and athletic events; drive various routes as needed.
• Complete pre- and post-inspections of buses and fuel as required.
• Keep records of bus operations and submit reports including accidents and delays.
