Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to perform quality assurance testing, prepare lab reports, and support additive selection and fluid design. The role requires maintaining equipment and adhering to HSE standards onsite in Windsor, CO.

The position is contract-based with an early start preferred and involves 5 days on, 2 days off, with occasional overtime. Onsite work with PPE provided and lifting tasks as specified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of experience in a lab environment preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office 365 skills.
• Ability to navigate File Explorer and general computer systems.
• Strong willingness to learn and assist across multiple functions.
• Ability to meet the physical and lifting requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Deliver QA testing on company products.
• Prepare laboratory reports prior to service delivery at the wellsite.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in clean and working condition.
• Support quality and HSE initiatives.
• Provide technical support for additive selection and fluid design as competency develops.
• Perform risk analysis before tasks to identify safety and quality concerns.

Work arrangement: Onsite

Employment Type: Contract

Start Date: No later than October 1, 2026; earlier start preferred

Pay Rate: $19.90–$25.00/hour on W2, based on relevant experience

$19.90/hour for candidates with no experience

Schedule

• 5 days on / 2 days off
• Occasional overtime and after-hours support may be required.

Position Summary

The Trainee Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable PSD services to customers. This role performs quality assurance testing on company products, prepares laboratory reports, and provides technical support for additive selection and fluid design. The technician will also maintain laboratory equipment, support quality and HSE initiatives, and work closely with technical teams, operating locations, product centers, and customer support laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure job deliverables are accurate and completed on time.
• Develop the competency required to perform advanced additive selection and fluid design.
• Perform quality assurance testing on company products.
• Prepare laboratory reports prior to service delivery at the wellsite.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in clean and working condition.
• Ensure laboratory waste is properly and regularly disposed of.
• Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.
• Perform regular laboratory audits to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Assist Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions with technical support.
• Perform risk analysis before each task or job to identify and mitigate safety and quality concerns.
• Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and support performance improvement through action plans.
• Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
• Wear required PPE and follow all HSE policies and procedures.
• Maintain required safety training.
• Provide technical support during additive selection and fluid design as competency develops.

Candidates must be able to meet the lifting requirements of the position:

• Lift with 2 hands from floor to knuckle: 54 lbs x 2
• Lift with 2 hands from waist to waist: 54 lbs x 2
• Lift with 2 hands from floor to shoulder: 50 lbs x 2
• Lift with 2 hands from floor to crown: 30 lbs x 2

PPE Requirements

• PPE provided, including coveralls and safety glasses.
• Reimbursement available for steel‑toed shoes up to $150.
• Prescription safety glasses may be reimbursed based on cost and approval.
