Job summary

Island Waste Ltd is seeking a Trainee HGV Driver in Guernsey. This full-time role starts as a trainee and, on obtaining your HGV licence, you will be employed as a Driver.

We provide funding for driving lessons and both theory and practical tests, with the chance to learn different vehicles within our fleet. Salary starts competitively and increases with experience; there are generous holidays and benefits after probation, including health insurance and a pension.

• Ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the driving team as a Trainee HGV Driver.
• Learn to operate different vehicle types within the fleet.

Island Waste are on the hunt for aspiring HGV Drivers!

Are you interested in driving? Still need to pass your test?

We are looking for someone to start work immediately as a passenger and learn the role. As soon as you achieve your HGV Licence you will be employed as a Driver.

What do we provide?

• Funding for both the theory and practical HGV Tests
• The opportunity to learn to drive different types of vehicles within our Fleet including Skip Trucks, Hi-Abs and Hooks

We offer sociable daytime working hours, and the opportunity to learn to drive different vehicles within our Fleet.

Standard hours are based on 40 hours per week, over 5 days, 07.00am - 15.00pm Monday to Friday. Some overtime maybe required.
