Job summary

Potomac Community Services seeks an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) to provide supervised support in screening, assessment, case management, psychoeducation, and care coordination for individuals with substance use disorders. This role supports clients toward certification/licensure under Maryland state regulations.

The position offers structured supervision, opportunities to engage families, and linkage to community resources within a growing program.

Qualifications

• Experience with assessments, case management, and record keeping.
• State of Maryland ADT designation or higher.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Familiarity with community resources for mental health and substance use recovery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in screenings and intake assessments for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• Provide psychoeducation to individuals and families on recovery and relapse prevention.
• Support implementation of treatment plans under supervision.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and link clients to resources.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in EHR systems and COMAR compliance.
