Norfolk Southern is seeking candidates to join as conductors, starting on the extra board and bidding into regular assignments as seniority grows. The role requires 24/7 on-call availability with as little as 90 minutes' notice and involves regular travel away from home.

Training lasts about 20 weeks, with initial weeks at the NS Training Center in McDonough, GA, plus travel reimbursements and lodging. First-year earnings and hours are outlined in the compensation section.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and clean record.
• Able to report to work within 90 minutes and be on-call 24/7.
• Must pass pre-employment FRA drug and alcohol screening.

Responsabilités

• Build and inspect trains, railcars, and equipment for safe operation.
• Operate remote control locomotives and perform coupling, alignment, and hand braking.
• Communicate effectively with crews, dispatchers, and yard controllers.
• Maintain documentation and comply with FRA and company safety rules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
