Job Description

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Train and Station Operations Trainer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for project delivery, managing O&M requirements throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with various departments, preparing documentation, arranging training, and ensuring interface management between design, build, and O&M teams. The position is based in Pearl City, HI, USA.

Accountabilities
  1. Develop and administer comprehensive training programs for trains and stations, supporting objectives and assisting in material development.
  2. Conduct theoretical and practical training in classroom and field settings on topics such as station operations, train operations, safety, customer service, and emergency procedures.
  3. Utilize current training techniques including lectures, demonstrations, participation, and evaluations.
  4. Instruct, assess competency, and mentor train operators and station staff.
  5. Ensure all staff maintain required competencies and qualifications, administering online testing via LMS.
  6. Participate in emergency drills and supervise staff testing and certification processes.
  7. Ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety rules.
  8. Maintain training records within LMS and ensure resource availability for training sessions.
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Current or past certification as a train or light rail vehicle operator.
  • Strong communication skills for technical instruction.
  • Ability to develop training materials and quickly learn passenger vehicle operations, safety rules, and policies.
  • Effective relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours and shifts.
Desired Skills/Knowledge
  • At least 4 years' experience in train or light rail vehicle operations and/or training.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $74,000 - $111,000, with final pay based on experience, skills, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, paid vacation, and work/life programs.
