Job summary

Harris Teeter seeks a dock/yard worker to move trailers between distribution centers and loading docks, secure wheels, unload salvage trailers when needed, and guide freight to unloading bays. Safety and attendance policies are emphasized.

Candidates should be able to read safety rules and operate VLM time clock and MDS On-Board Computer. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in operation of tractors and trailers preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to meet distribution needs and yard activities.
• Ensure wheels are chocked when parking a trailer.
• Unload salvage trailers when needed to reallocate assets.
• Move loaded trailers from outside drivers to unloading doors.
• Document trailer and door assignments on door sheet.
