Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician in Advance, NC to maintain, diagnose, and repair our trailer fleet, ensuring safe and efficient transportation operations. The role requires strong knowledge of air brake and electrical systems, plus diagnostic tool proficiency.

The position involves welding, fabrication, and door/floor/component repairs, with some refrigeration unit service as applicable. CDL is preferred but not required; CDL-free candidates encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of trailer maintenance/repair experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other components.
• Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable).
• Collaborate with transportation team to minimize downtime.

Trailer Technician

Location: Advance, NC

Schedule: (Wed- Sat 6am-4:30pm)

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment

This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
