Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations. The role requires performing routine maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing components in a fast-paced environment at our Arcadia, WI location.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of trailer maintenance experience, knowledge of air brake and electrical systems, and the ability to operate diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of trailer maintenance and repair experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills are preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all trailers meet safety and compliance standards
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
• Replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other structural components
• Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable)
• Collaborate with transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime

The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
