Job summary

Utility Keystone in Westmoreland County, Mount Pleasant, PA, is seeking a skilled trailer welder to perform welding and repair work on semi-trailers. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and quality in a team environment.

You will operate a range of welding processes and support modifications with a focus on throughput. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of welding experience, HS diploma or GED, and the ability to work with aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years related welding experience.
• Willing to perform varied welding (tig, mig, arc) and work with aluminum, steel, and stainless.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding in aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.
• Weld using TIG, MIG, and ARC processes.
• Repair and modify trailers as assigned.
• Service trailer suspensions including heavy duty brakes, drums, cams, slack adjusters, air valves, etc.
• Maintain allocated time frames for repairs and modifications.
• Receive work orders from Supervisors and attend trainings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Perform all phases of repairs and modifications to semi-trailers in a safe and productive manner.

Essential Duties:

• Perform all types of welding (i.e. aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel)
• Perform all styles of each phase of welding (i.e. tig, mig and arc)
• Perform repair and modification on all styles of trailers as assigned
• Perform repairs on Trailer Suspensions including heavy duty brakes, drums, cams, slack adjusters, chambers, air valves, etc.
• Maintain allocated time frame on all repairs and modifications
• Contribute to work assignment from acquired experience and knowledge
• Diagnose and make recommendations on repairs as required
• Receive all work assignments from Supervisor(s)
• Attend training seminars as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Education - High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years related experience/training required

• Noise levels are moderate to high at times.
• The physical exertion is moderate to heavy. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds.
• The employee must be capable of continuously climbing up and down into a trailer.
