Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and related equipment. Under routine supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and complete fleet maintenance to meet company standards.

The role requires 18+ years old, 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance experience, and the ability to work outdoors and across multiple shifts. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for a limited time.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventive maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
