Job summary
FleetPride in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Trailer Technician II to master preventive maintenance and perform basic to advanced repairs on Class 7 and 8 trailers with limited supervision. You will diagnose trailer system failures, replace components, repair brakes and suspension, and sustain safety and productivity on the shop floor.
Prior welding training is a plus, and you must bring your own hand and air tools.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trailers.
- Must provide hand tools, air tools, and toolbox.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and follow safe lifting practices.
Responsibilities
- Examine trailers to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
- Diagnose, repair, build and rebuild all parts of trailer equipment.
- Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions when appropriate.
- Maintain 80% productivity and prevent comebacks.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of trailers and equipment.
- Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric).
- Test components with proper equipment to ensure proper operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including various types.
- Perform basic aluminum and steel welding.
- Keep workspace clean and organized.
