Job summary

TEC Equipment in California is seeking a trailer technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi-trailers across our network. You will conduct inspections, troubleshoot wiring and electronic issues, and document services.

The role requires 2–5 years of trailer experience, own hand tools, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; CDL preferred but not required. TEC offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

2–5 years minimum experience working on trailers.
Must have own hand tools.
High proficiency diagnosing with diagnostic software.
Proficient inputting vehicle maintenance records.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform climbing.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair to proper operating condition, including FHWA/BIT inspections.
Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair electronic issues.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance; identify worn parts and repair/replace as needed.
Maintain safe and organized work area.
Meet shop quality and efficiency standards and take ownership of assigned jobs.
Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Use all safety equipment necessary for the job.
Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills via education and readings.
Remove and replace main structural components of a reefer or dry van trailer.
