Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician for our Long Beach Shop. You will inspect trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and repair brakes, axles, lighting, and frames to keep our fleet safe and compliant.

The role requires welding, welding and diagnostic capability, and precise record-keeping. The position offers a $20.00–$25.00 hourly rate (DOE) with competitive benefits and a non-exempt, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

Three years of trailer maintenance/repair experience.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Familiar with DOT safety regulations and trailer inspections.
Strong mechanical aptitude and welding knowledge.
Ability to diagnose issues and propose repairs independently.
Effective time management in a fast-paced shop.
Legally eligible to work in the United States and pass screenings.

Responsibilities

Inspect trailers to diagnose mechanical and structural issues.
Repair brakes, axles, lighting, suspension, flooring, doors, and air systems.
Perform preventive maintenance per DOT standards.
Replace worn parts such as hubs, landing gear, lights, and mud flaps.
Keep service records using maintenance software and labor logs.
Operate shop tools and diagnostic equipment safely.
Maintain clean, organized work area and assist with inventory.
Collaborate with Road Service and Diesel Technician teams.
Weld frames, hangers, landing gears, walls, and floors; troubleshoot ABS and electrical shorts.
