Job summary

Greg's Diesel Service is seeking a Trailer Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, dollies, and switchers in a fast-paced fleet maintenance shop in Medley, FL.

You will perform DOT-guided PMs, document repairs with photos, and communicate statuses to shop management while maintaining a safe, organized work area. Valid DL and ability to lift 75 lbs required; 1–3 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of mechanic/vehicle maintenance experience
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work under trailers
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment including brakes, suspension, doors, lights etc.
• Pull equipment into the shop and park it in the yard
• Perform PM inspections per DOT guidelines
• Document repairs, parts usage, and labor with pictures and descriptions
• Respond to road calls as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicate repair statuses and parts requests to managers
• Maintain shop organization and equipment readiness

Trailer Technician

Job Summary:

Trailer technicians are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing the customer's equipment, whether it be trailers, dollies, or switchers. Technicians play a critical role in maintaining compliance, safety, and reliability of the company and the equipment that is repaired. This role is mainly independent work in a fast-paced, fleet maintenance environment, including peak and high-demand periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing equipment, including brakes, suspension, landing gear, doors, lights, etc.
• Pulling equipment into the shop as well as parking it in the yard
• Performing PM inspections according to DOT guidelines
• Documenting repairs, parts usage, and labor, including providing pictures as well as accurate descriptions for each repair
• Responding to road calls on an as-needed basis
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicating with shop managers/supervisors on repair statuses, parts requests, as well as any other items that need addressed
• Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and equipment readiness

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass a background check
• 1-3+ years of mechanic/vehicle maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work under trailers
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions
