Job summary
Sonsray Fleet is seeking an experienced and motivated Trailer Technician to join our Carlstadt team. This position inspects, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs trailers and related systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with trailer maintenance, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, lift gates, and DOT/BIT inspections. We value safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced shop environment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years as Trailer Technician or heavy-duty repair role
- Strong knowledge of trailer systems and air brakes
- Experience with lift-gate, rail, or hydraulic systems preferred
- DOT/BIT/PM inspection knowledge
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform trailer PM, BIT, and DOT inspections
- Inspect and repair lighting and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and brake systems
- Maintain lift-gate, rail, and hydraulic components
- Keep maintenance records and ensure safety standards
- Operate tools and maintain a clean, safe shop environment
- Collaborate with service team to complete repairs efficiently
