Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment. The role includes preventative maintenance, component repairs, and welding/fabrication as needed, with emphasis on accurate record-keeping in company systems.

You should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience, with valid driver’s license. PTO starts from day one; uniforms and tools are provided as part of the benefits package.

• Familiarity with diagnostic software and repair tools (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Identify and properly classify repairs (preventative maintenance, component failure, brake components, dolly legs, panel and related repairs).
• Record parts, materials, and repair details using company systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Earn up to $34/hr based on experience

Work Hours

• Sunday – Wednesday or Wednesday – Saturday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment issues
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
• Identify and properly classify repairs, including:
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Component failure
  • Brake components
  • Dolly legs
  • Panel and related repairs (radius, nose, etc.)
  • Doors and related hardware
• Record parts, materials, and repair details using company systems
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience
• Experience diagnosing and repairing Class 8 equipment
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and computer‑based repair tools (training provided)
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks
