Job summary

Transco Lines, Inc. in Muskogee, OK is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform DOT and PM inspections on trailers, full maintenance and repair, and road-ready diagnostics. The role requires basic computer input, tire work, and welding/fabrication of steel and aluminum.

A current CDL is required, with ASE Diesel Certification or 3–6 months related experience preferred. The position involves maintaining clean work areas, timely repair orders, and potential special projects.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate or ASE Diesel Certification, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
  • CDL license is required.
  • Willingness to perform essential duties including mechanical work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly performs DOT & PM inspections on trailers.
  • Performs all trailer preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Tags warranty parts with cause of failure, mileage and removal date.
  • Keeps work area clean; minimizes spills and debris.
  • Completes repair orders promptly; charges labor and parts to the correct unit.
  • Input vehicle information into basic computer systems; diagnose equipment.
  • Perform trailer electrical work and tire repair.
  • Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum as needed.
  • Test equipment for proper operation.
  • Ensure all tools are used properly and safely.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.

One year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.
  • Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
  • Basic computer skills to input vehicle information and diagnose equipment.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Trailer electrical work.
  • Tests equipment for proper operations.
  • Fix and repair tires, as necessary.
  • Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary.
  • Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Must have current valid driver's license.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • 1 year experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Valid CDL License.
  • ASE Diesel Certification an asset.
