Job summary

Riverside Transport Group in Muskogee, OK is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform DOT and PM inspections, maintenance, and repair on trailers. The role requires welding/fabrication skills and basic computer use to input data and diagnose equipment.

Ideal candidates will have a 1-year certificate or equivalent training, a CDL license, and ASE certification is a plus. The position includes hands-on work in a dynamic shop environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience
  • ASE Diesel Certification is preferred asset
  • Valid CDL license is preferred for the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform DOT & PM inspections on trailers
  • Complete trailer preventative maintenance and repair
  • Tag warranty parts with cause of failure, mileage and removal date
  • Maintain clean work area and manage spills, grease and debris
  • Complete repair orders timely with accurate labor and parts charges
  • Input vehicle information using basic computer skills and diagnose equipment
  • Perform trailer electrical work and test equipment for proper operation
  • Fix and repair tires as needed; welding/fabrication of steel and aluminum as required
  • Keep work areas clean and free of clutter
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers.
  • All trailer preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Tags all warranty parts with appropriate information to include cause of failure, mileage and removal date.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.
  • Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
  • Basic computer skills to input vehicle information and diagnose equipment.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Trailer electrical work.
  • Tests equipment for proper operations.
  • Fix and repair tires, as necessary.
  • Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary.
  • Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Must have current valid driver's license.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed.

Education and/or Experience

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • 1 year experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
