Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. seeks a Trailer Technician in Indianapolis, IN, to perform routine maintenance, inspections, rebuilds and component replacements on company trailers.

You will work the 1st shift, with a schedule that includes Monday–Wednesday and every other weekend, 6:30 p.m.–5:00 a.m. The role involves tire changes, electrical repairs, greasing, and documenting work orders in maintenance software, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in welding, electronics, or related systems or 1 year trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Experience with computer systems and diagnostic software.

Job overview:

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance to trailers – like tire changes, minor electrical repairs and greasing.
• Use maintenance software to create and track work orders.
• Communicate status updates with internal customers.

Skills and qualifications:

• Technical degree in welding, electronics, or related systems, or a minimum of 1 year of trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
