Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. is hiring a Trailer Technician in Houston, TX. This full-time role runs Wednesday-Friday and every other weekend, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with 1st shift.

You will service company trailers, perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance, and document work with maintenance software. Qualifications include a technical degree or 1+ year trailer tech experience, basic welding, and proficiency with diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 1+ year trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Experience with computer systems and diagnostics.
• Ability to recommend maintenance and repair actions.
• Provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, rebuilds and component replacements as a Trailer Technician in Houston, TX.
• Work on company trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance to trailers – like tire changes, minor electrical repairs and greasing.
• Use maintenance software to create and track work orders.
• Communicate status updates with internal customers.

Skills and qualifications:

• Technical degree in welding, electronics, or related systems, or a minimum of 1 year of trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
