We are hiring a Trailer Technician in El Paso, TX.

Key Measure of Success

• Be recognized by team, peers, and management as a key supporter.
• Identify and resolve problems/tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow instructions and respond to management directions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, adjust, and repair trailers with minor problems.
• Ensure equipment functions properly and meets Department of Transportation compliance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions on air brakes, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items.
• Adjust mechanical items such as doors and slack adjusters.
• Perform light maintenance such as replacing/repairing marker lights, seals, airbags, and mud flaps.
• Repair trailer body such as patching roofs, panels, rail repairs, door sections, floor sections, and cross‑member replacement.
• Perform minor welding repairs.
• Repair and replace tires, wheel bearings, and seals.
• Change fluids and filters as necessary.
• Replace and adjust brakes for proper function.
• Inspect and clean parts; submit orders if parts must be replaced.
• Confirm proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years or more mechanic experience and/or training.
• Must meet inspector qualifications outlined by FMCSA section CFR 396.17.
• Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferred.
