Job summary

Mvt Logistics in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Trailer Technician to repair and maintain trailers ensuring efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.

Trailer Technician

A Trailer Technician repairs and maintains trailers to ensure efficient operation and compliance.

Key measure of success includes

• Be recognized by team, peers, and management as a key supporter.
• Identify and resolve problems/tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow instructions, respond to management directions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects, adjusts, and repairs trailers with minor problems.
• Ensures equipment is functioning properly and within Department of Transportation compliance.
• Troubleshoots electrical/mechanical malfunctions on air brakes, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items.
• Adjusts mechanical items such as doors and slack adjusters.
• Performs slight maintenance such as replacing/repairing marker lights, seals, airbags and mud flaps.
• Performs trailer body repairs such as patching of roofs, panels, rail repairs, door sections, floor sections, cross-member replacement, etc.
• Minor welding repairs.
• Repairs/replace tires, wheel bearings and seals.
• Changes fluids and filters as necessary.
• Replace and adjust brakes for proper function.
• Inspects and cleans parts; submits orders if parts must be replaced.
• Confirms proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
