Job summary

Central Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician to repair open deck heavy haul trailers and related equipment in Minnesota. You will work under the Service Manager, performing air and electrical system repairs, brake and tarp systems, and welding as needed.

The job requires DOT/CMV inspector credentials (or ability to obtain) and a solid mechanical background. The team emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and timely service.

Qualifications

• DOT/CMV Inspector certification or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a technician/mechanic.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, such as air brakes and electrical systems.
• Welding experience a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A.
• Regular, consistent attendance.
• Basic tool set and toolbox.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Repairs will include but not be limited to: air systems, electrical systems, tire dismount and mount, brake systems, ABS systems, suspension systems.
• Tarp systems, live bottom conveyor system, mig welding.
• Move trailer in and out of the shop with provided truck.
• Use shop tools when needed.
• Complete all work orders upon project completion.
• Keep work area clean for ease of working.

As a Trailer Technician you will be tasked with repairs of open deck heavy haul, material hauling, special mobile equipment trailers, step decks, and any other trailers involved with a typical road building company. The technician will repair trailers as directed by Service Manager.

Requirements:

• Current DOT/CMV Inspector certificate or ability to obtain
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a technician/mechanic.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, such as air brakes, and electrical systems.
• Exceptional understanding of mechanical and technical aspects of trailers.
• Welding experience a plus.
• Manual dexterity, experience with hand tools, and physical strength.
• Regular, consistent attendance.
• Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.
• Basic tool set and toolbox.
