Job summary

Central Transport is hiring mobile and shop mechanical technicians in Nashville, TN to maintain a fleet of over 2,200 tractors and thousands of trailers across the United States and Canada. The role covers preventive maintenance, brake and tire work, frame and landing gear repairs, and general fleet readiness.

The position offers industry-leading pay starting at $31/hour, company-paid training, medical and dental benefits, PTO, bereavement and jury-duty leave, plus uniforms and BCBS network

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience.
• Basic set of tools.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Repair trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Responsible for repairing damage to containers, trailers, and chassis.
• Repairing tears on the sides of containers.
• Replacing lights
• Tire repair
• Landing gear repair
• Frame repair
