Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking an entry-level Yard Switcher/Package Handler in New Jersey. The role involves moving trailers between yards and doors, loading and unloading packages by hand, and sorting packages efficiently.

You will use yard management tools and perform normal safety checks during operations. Candidates must be able to lift and move packages, work early-morning shifts, and participate in a team-focused environment; prior experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for movement of trailers between yard and doors and within the yard.
• Load/unload/sort packages by hand; lift/push/pull/carry as needed.
• Perform trailer switches and coordinate movements with yard management.
• Document trailer moves and perform pre/post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Operate the conveyor system as needed and assist with package handling duties.
