Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years meaningful/practical work experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with supervisory background.
• Strong knowledge of safe handling and operation of trailers/tractors and mechanical aptitude.
• Professional, motivated, positive, results-oriented, problem-solving attitude.
• Good communication skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead supervisor in heavy duty equipment shop; train and guide staff mechanics.
• Work with mechanics to ensure timely, quality repairs and identify causes of breakdowns.
• Estimate repair costs and prepare itemized service order with parts and labor.
• Serve as liaison between management, mechanics and customers.
• Oversee mechanics to achieve excellent customer service and satisfaction.
• Enforce safety procedures per company policies, DOT, OSHA and other standards.
• Direct and structure shop activities; manage schedule for shop repairs.
• Communicate with customers about options to help them decide what work to perform.
• Perform tasks in efficient, timely, accurate, professional, and safe manner.
