Job summary

wabashcareers is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform thorough inspections of trailers against criteria and sales orders. You will document defects on an iPad and Traveler, escalate repeat issues to Supervisor and QA, and verify paperwork and serial numbers are recorded.

Trainings will be provided; prior inspection experience is a plus, and strong attention to detail is essential to ensure products meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• History of good attendance.
• Prior inspection experience is a plus.
• Ability to interpret sales orders and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper follow through on inspections and workmanship standards, critical to quality, schedules, and reports from management.
• Provide accurate data of inspection.
• Ensures product meets acceptable standards by understanding, enforcing, and facilitating the specific rules and guidelines as established by Quality Assurance, Wabash, and our customers.
• Identifying damages, discrepancies, missing parts by inspecting trailers as per requirements.
• Persons performing inspections must be qualified through a training course.
• Responsible for condition of the trailer in which it leaves.
• Responsible for inspecting compliance to DOT and FMVSS requirements along with completing Federally required inspection documents.
• Must be capable of self-management.
• Effective communication skills
• Reports to area supervisor, with dotted line to QA training team
• Attend and participate in regular inspector round tables and on-going training sessions.
