Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• FHWA test and recertification required every two years.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing); bilingual is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must work well with manufacturing hourly employees and all levels of management.
• Core competencies: detail-oriented, motivated, organized.

Responsibilities

• Operate all tools necessary for the job, including brake test machine, light tester, man lift, bumper jack, ABS tester; use wrenches and tape measure.
• Work on the trailer assembly line and sub-assembly areas, monitoring items as directed by QA Manager.
• Verify conformance of items to company drawings, standards and specifications.
• Record acceptance or rejection on the appropriate forms with clearly defined reasons.
• Assist in initiating corrective action when quality levels fall short or reliability is not met.
• Maintain communications with all assembly line managers about out-of-spec conditions.
• Maintain daily off-the-line reporting status of units leaving sub-assembly and final assembly.
• Submit continuous product quality appraisals to those who affect the final unit.
• Perform tasks safely, efficiently, and in a productive manner according to policy.
• Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
• Attend scheduled work hours regularly and maintain good attendance.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime.
• Follow company policies and procedures; other duties may be assigned.
