Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair trailers, heavy equipment, and industrial assets to keep our environmental services fleet in top condition.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance. We value hands-on experience, own tools, and the ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including overtime and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Trailer maintenance and repair experience of 3–5 years.
• Experience with trailer electrical systems; welding experience is a plus.
• Owns personal tools suitable for the position.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including overtime and some Saturdays.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and relevant state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Repair trailers: wiring, brakes, wheel seals, electrical systems, ABS, welding.
• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter changes, tire rotations, minor adjustments.
• Document repairs: parts usage, repair times, and related paperwork.
• Conduct safety inspections and report deterioration for replacement or repair.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records.
• Assist other mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with OSHA standards.
