Job summary

Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Trailer Mechanic to join our Port Saint Lucie, FL team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair trailers and equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.

Daily tasks include DOT inspections, electrical and brake system work, preparing parts lists, and ensuring compliance with DOT standards. A valid license and good problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a certified or licensed trailer mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems.
• Experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Physical strength and use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment.
• Conduct DOT inspections and document repairs for customers.
• Prepare material lists for required repairs.
• Repair electrical, brake systems, suspensions, landing gears, lift gates, and PM inspections.
• Perform T1 inspections, troubleshooting, minor repairs and DOT compliance.
• Diagnose trailer and vehicle electrical problems and perform routine maintenance.
