Job summary

Caliberr Staffing in Nashville seeks a skilled Shop Trailer Mechanic for a permanent, full-time role. This position is shop-based only and does not involve roadside service calls.

You will perform DOT inspections, routine maintenance, identify trailer system issues, and restore liftgates, brake chambers, panels, and frames. Welding and fabrication tasks and using diagnostic gear complete the role; a strong safety mindset is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in heavy-duty or trailer maintenance.
• Own a set of essential hand tools.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues.
• Able to stand, climb, bend and lift during shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Shop Trailer Mechanic for a permanent, full-time role based in Nashville. This position is strictly shop-based, meaning you will not be required to handle emergency roadside service calls.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct official DOT-certified inspections
• Execute routine preventive maintenance checks
• Identify and resolve issues within trailer systems and equipment
• Restore functionality to liftgates, brake chambers, body panels, and structural frames
• Execute essential welding and metal fabrication tasks
• Utilize specialized diagnostic gear, lifts, jacks, and standard hand tools
• Support lead technicians to ensure complex repairs are completed efficiently
• Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of professional experience in heavy-duty or trailer maintenance
• Must possess your own set of essential hand tools
• Background in metal fabrication and welding is highly desirable
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical failures
• Physical capability to stand, climb, bend, and lift throughout your daily shift
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred

Compensation and Schedule

• Hourly rate ranging from $20 to $24, based on your professional background
• Standard Monday through Friday work week
• Full eight-hour shifts
