Mid Tenn Trailer Repair seeks an experienced Mobile Trailer Technician to service trailers at customer sites in the Memphis area. You will work from a fully equipped company service truck with a steady schedule and a strong local presence.

Qualifications

Job description

Mid Tenn Trailer Repair is hiring an experienced Mobile Trailer Technician to help support our rapidly growing customer base in the Memphis market.

We currently have more work in Memphis than our existing crews can efficiently handle and are looking to establish a permanent local presence. This is a full-time mobile position with steady work already in place - we are not hiring in anticipation of future business.

Pay & Schedule

• $26-$32 per hour, based on experience and ability
• Paid weekly
• Normal schedule based around 40 hours per week
• Overtime available depending on workload
• Weekly efficiency bonus program
• Opportunity to earn a $0.10/hour raise each month production exceeds 100%, up to $1.20 per year

Our weekly efficiency bonus begins at $50 at 100% efficiency and increases as production increases, with bonuses reaching as high as $1,100 per week for top-producing technicians.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a true mobile-service position. You will work independently from a fully equipped company service truck at customer locations throughout the Memphis area.

Typical work includes:

• DOT inspections and preventative maintenance
• Air brake diagnosis and repair
• Brake chambers, valves, airlines and ABS systems
• Wheel ends, bearings, hubs and seals
• Suspension repairs
• Electrical and lighting diagnosis
• Landing gear repairs
• Trailer doors and door hardware
• Wood and aluminum floor repairs
• Roof, wall and panel repairs
• Crossmembers, rails and structural repairs
• Welding and fabrication
• General trailer diagnosis and repair

Candidates with experience in industrial maintenance, conveyors, electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication or warehouse equipment are also encouraged to apply.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can operate independently and represent Mid Tenn professionally at customer locations.

A strong candidate will:

• Have previous trailer, truck, heavy-equipment or industrial maintenance experience
• Be capable of diagnosing problems without constant supervision
• Have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Be comfortable with welding and fabrication
• Understand air brake systems and trailer electrical systems
• Maintain accurate labor, parts, repair notes and photographs
• Communicate professionally with customers
• Take ownership of assigned work
• Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Trailer-repair experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider experienced mechanics, welders and industrial-maintenance technicians with transferable skills.
