Description

Assembling and disassembling vehicle engines and cleaning the fuel tanks. Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required. Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires. Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Perform all levels of trailer repair and maintenance services. Duties may include overhaul, adjustment, replacement, and repair of various motor truck and trailer equipment, such as minor sheet metal repair, welding, suspension repair, electrical systems, and surface preparation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and determine parts required for repairing disassembled van trailer units.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orders. Maintain work area appearance and safety.
• Perform body repairs with attention to detail and precision.
• Road test vehicles when necessary.
• Complete duties independently and efficiently.
• Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.
• Compile detailed parts lists to minimize repair delays.
• Work well in a team environment.

Requirements

• Perform PMs and federal inspections on dry van trailers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including trailer lights.
• Brake jobs and wheel seal replacement.
• Sheet metal work on trailers (roof patches, panel patches).
• Diagnose and repair ABS issues.
• Welding and torching (steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
• Body work including side rails, panels, and roofs.
• Overhead/roll-up door repair.
• PM on yard trucks.
• Two years of experience preferred but not required.
