Job description

The Trailer Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing multiple tasks using a variety of hand-held tools and equipment to install and assemble Sidump'r trailers. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, work effectively in a team setting, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in a manufacturing environment .

Duties/Responsibilities

Operate various hand-held, pneumatic, and electric power tools and other machinery .

Read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, and bill of material lists .

Work with various building materials .

Supply work areas with materials using an overhead crane, forklift, hand/powered carts, or by carrying items manually .

Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure equipment is properly cared for .

Observe all safety and security procedures and demonstrate a commitment to a safety and quality culture .

Perform assigned tasks to meet or exceed established labor standards .

Proactively identify potential cost savings and minimize scrap and waste .

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent .

Basic computer knowledge .

Knowledge and use of basic hand tools, including electrical and pneumatic tools .

Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills .

Understanding of manufacturing processes, basic electrical functions, and the ability to learn trailer air and hydraulic systems .

Ability to work 4 10-hour shifts with the potential for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays .

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, walking, talking, or hearing .

Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms .

Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling .

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and potentially up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques and equipment .

Work is performed in a manufacturing setting, occasionally in outside weather conditions .

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, ambient air, hot and cold temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, and chemicals .

Noise level is usually moderate but occasionally high .
