Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Detroit, MI is seeking experienced trailer mechanics to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a fleet of over 2,200 tractors, 8,500 trailers, and 1,700 forklifts across the United States and Canada.

Shift rates start at $31/hour for 1st shift and $33/hour for 2nd shift. Benefits include medical, dental, PTO, bereavement and jury duty leave, and uniforms provided. ASE certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance or trailer repair.
• Basic set of tools required for on-site maintenance.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Repair trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure proper working condition.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Repair damage to containers, trailers, and chassis.
• Repairing tears on the sides of containers.
• Replacing lights.
• Tire repair.
• Landing gear repair.
• Frame repair.
